Considering bringing an alcohol stove as backup... (we are heading out mid september) curious if anyone saw any denatured alcohol or Alcohol a Bruler at any of the resuppy stops or huts: haut asco, vizzavona, Castellu di Verghio?? Rubbing (isopropyl) alcohol would also work in a pinch...

Leave the stove. You don't need it, you probably can't get fuel and it adds extra weight.

I 2nd the above answer. No stove needed. All refuges have an outside kitchen for those sleeping in tents to cook. During the day on the trail you have a sandwich, trailmix, snacks for food anyway and you drink a lot.

Are there pots, pans, cutlery etc available for use in the refuges?
